Graphic Photos: Man whose wife was burnt to death in a political fight in Abia state cries out for justice

51 year old Emmanuel Orioha, the husband of 36 year old Amaechi Orioha (pictured above) who was burnt to death during a political fight at Okpuala, the headquarters of Isiala Ngwa North Council on November 9th, has cried out for justice, alleging that his family has received letters of threat from some anonymous persons.

The deceased who served as the clerical officer in the local government secretariat, was in the chairman's office when the political fight between PDP members who were electing their chairmanship candidate for next month's election, broke out.

The political thugs present at the election, hijacked the fight and in the process, set the chairman's office ablaze. Amaechi and the secretariat's driver were severely burnt and both died from complications from the fire injury.

Narrating what happened to Vanguard, Emmanuel said his wife and mother of their four children was sacrificed by politicians for their political gains.
“On Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at about 11.30 am, I was in my house resting after returning from the farm. I got a call from my senior brother, Ugonna, who told me to urgently proceed to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, that my wife was involved in fire outbreak in her office. When I got to Umuahia, I saw my wife at the emergency ward and I could not recognize her because of the degree of burns she sustained. I told them this is not my wife. The doctors who were doing everything possible to save her life told me to call her as she was still managing to speak. I called her and she responded. I lost control; it was like the end of the world for me. After trying their best, the doctors referred us to the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu, where the doctors told me in confidence that the chance of her survival was 50-50 because of the level of injuries she sustained. Before then, I asked her if she recognized the people that set the office on fire. She mentioned three persons, all of them natives of Isiala Ngwa North. She said that three boys came to the chairman’s office with petrol and one of their colleagues confronted them, they said that the Transition Committee chairman asked them to buy it for his generator. Shortly after, the chairman came to his office and picked few things and left. After that, one of the boys made a phone call after which one of them poured the fuel around chairman’s office and lit it up,” he said.

Elder brother to Emmanuel, Ugonna Orioha, alleged that some politicians who came to their community to solicit for votes, had made inciting comments which is the root cause of the attack that killed his sister in-law, Amaechi.
“On October 19, 2016, some notable politicians from Ngwa Ugwu and Umuha visited our community to solicit support for their aspirant running for chairmanship of the council. They addressed us and some of them threatened that if one of the aspirants, Ginger Onwusibe, wins the election, blood will flow, that they will burn down the council. One of our leaders cautioned them over the statement reminding all of us that it should not be a do or die affair. Now see what happened about two weeks after. Those people and the Transition Chairman are our principal suspects in the death of our wife. We are ready to go anywhere and mention their names. We are using this opportunity to call on the Federal Government to wade into the issue of political killings in Isiala Ngwa North. The Federal Government should do something about it.” Speaking further, Emmanuel said his family have been receiving letter of threat from some anonymous persons. “Now, they have also sent a letter of threat to my brother, Ugonna. The life of our family is under threat. We appeal for police protection.” A paragraph of the alleged letter of threat reads “Ugonna Orioha, choose to close your mouth or we shall come for you.” He said the letter has since been submitted to the police.

Heavily pregnant woman survives attack after being shot three times (Photos)

A heavily pregnant woman, Susheela Kumar, from Mahavir Colony, in Haryana, India, was over the weekend shot three times while she slept, but she managed to survive the attack and delivered her baby with the bullets still inside her.

27-year-old Susheela and her husband Pradip were attacked by gunmen in the night in an attempted honour killing, reports say. Unfortunately, Suseela’s husband, Pradip, and his parents died from the attack...

Susheela, who was nine months pregnant was hit by three bullets – one, sliced her arm, the other passed through her mouth and the third bullet had pierced through her pancreas. When the attackers left, neighbours called for help and she was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors saved her and delivered the baby by C-section.

Susheela had married late Pradip, also 27, four years ago against her family's wishes. The couple fled their village to start a new life, but returned to Pradip's family home when she became pregnant.

Authorities say the incident was an attempted honour killing.

Meanwhile her yet-to-be named baby is fully grown and weighs 2.2kg. He has been kept in Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, while the mother is being treated.

Pep Guardiola forgives Yaya Toure, starts him for 1st time this season

Manchester city head coach Pep Guardiola has apparently forgiven midfielder Yaya Toure as he was among the start up line in Saturday's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace which they won after Toure scored twice to move Man City level at the top of the league.

This is the first time Toure is playing this season for Man City in the EPL after he was frozen out by Pep Guardiola following 'insulting' statements from Yaya's agent.

Toure was told by Guardiola in September that he would not play for City again unless his agent Dmitry Seluk apologised for claiming Guardiola had “humiliated” his client by omitting him from the club’s 25-man Champions League squad.

Guardiola's statements made Yaya Toure release a statement before the FIFA international break,  apologizing for his agent's statements and urging for forgiveness from the club.

BIAFRA: Why Nnamdi Kanu Cannot Be Destroyed By Any Government Or Man Born Of Woman – Fani Kayode Opens Up | Ngyab

Kayode said; Nnamdi Kanu cannot be destroyed or silenced by any government or man born of woman because the Lord is with him and He is using him. He is using him to say and do the things that many believe but that are too scared to say or do.
Read An Essay He Wrote About KANU
In my essay titled “Head Bloodied But Not Bowed And The Ascension Of President-Elect Donald J. Trump” (Part 1) I wrote the following:
“When I went to visit the great and brilliant freedom fighter, Nnamdi Kanu, who is the leader of IPOB and easily the most courageous, powerful and credible Igbo leader in Nigeria today in his cell we had a very instructive and long discussion.
I had never met Nnamdi before and I was amazed at his depth of knowledge, his immense courage and his deep convictions.
There is no doubt in my mind that that man is going places and in him the Igbo have an Ojukwu and a Nnamdi Azikiwe all rolled into one. He is destined for greatness”.
Apparantly my words have created quite a stir amongst those who believe that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu cannot be mentioned in the same breath as Azikiwe or Ojukwu, both of whom, in my view, are also great men.
Yet despite their reservations I believe that we must give honor to whom it is due. Consequently I have no regrets for what I have said.
Those that are upset at the fact that I spoke highly of the IPOB leader are misguided and, worst still, they lack vision, foresight and insight.
They not only lack the ability to perceive individuals and events accurately but they also lack the gift of discermment. They may see the man but they cannot assess or recognise the spirit that is in him and that motivates him.
Worse of all they are suffering from good old fashioned envy and they have been afflicted with the worst form of ignorance.
Most of them have never even met Kanu let alone know him. I sat next to him for three solid hours in the most challenging and difficult circumstances.
We discussed our respective views about Nigeria, our collective history, the suffering and marginalisation of our respective people, the Nigerian civil war, the reptilian and violent nature of the Nigerian state, the present dispensation, the Buhari government and the way forward.
I have associated with, met and worked with many men of influence and power since I entered the combustible fray of politics thirty years ago but this one was different.
This was a man that had what I would describe as a Mahatma Ghandi-like quality. That is to say he is one that is prepared to sacrifice everything and anything for his beliefs, his people and his cause.
Like the great Scottish freedom fighter William Wallace I have no doubt that if he deemed it necessary he would go as far as to sacrifice his very life in the struggle for freedom and independence for his Igbo people from the Nigerian state and from our internal colonial masters and for the establishment of his beloved Biafra.
Not all may agree with him on that course but they must respect his determination, passion and courage.
Very few Nigerian leaders have that level of selflessness and commitment to any cause and, simply put, I admire it.
I looked deeply into his eyes as we spoke and I touched and weighed his soul.
I can tell you, without any fear of contradiction, that he is a profoundly good man who loves his Igbo people deeply.
He is also well-educated and widely-read and he is a formidable intellectual.
We may not have agreed on everything but I can tell you this much: we share an aversion to the spread of radical Islam and terror in Nigeria and indeed throughout the world.
We also share deep concerns about the oppression of our people by the state, the vicious persecution and desperate attempt to silence all the voices of the opposition in our country, the marginalisation and suppression of the good people and ethnic nationalities of the south and the Middle Belt, the implementation of a plainly racist and apartheid-like agenda by our government, the regular and consistent practice of genocide by our security forces, the rise in power and increasing callousness and brutality of the Fulani miltias and herdsmen in our midst, the not so hidden agenda to Islamise our nation and violate the secularity of our state, the violation of court orders, the brazen intimidation of the Judiciary and the resort to the most barbarous and hideous form of gestapo tactics, tyranny and human rights abuses by the Buhari administration.
I can also tell you that he feels and shares the pain of the Igbo and he yearns for their liberation and emanciption from an increasingly hostile and oppressive Nigerian state.
He is not a politician in the true sense of the word but rather a freedom fighter and a charissmatic leader who has managed to inspire millions of Igbo youth all over the world to once again have faith in themselves and their collective cause and aspirations. In my view that is a good thing.
I can also tell you this: he is a man of great faith and conviction and his rise to prominence is not ordinary but instead prophetic.
He cannot be destroyed or silenced by any government or man born of woman because the Lord is with him and He is using him. He is using him to say and do the things that many believe but that are too scared to say or do.
Other leaders have had their time in the past and now this is his. He is paying a very heavy price right now for what God will use him for in the future.
I recognise that fact and I sincerely hope and pray that his Igbo people will come to appreciate him and do so as well.
Very few leaders can or would be willing to take the pain and make the kind of sacrifice that this man is making today.
I am a very cautious and circumspect person and it takes me a while to warm to people or for them to win my confidence. Yet this case was different.
Nnamdi and I, rather like Che Guevera and Fidel Castro at the beginning of the Cuban revolution, connected immediately and he won my trust, respect and admiration.
If there is anyone that can truly build the much needed bridge between the south-west, the south-south and the south-east it is Nnamdi Kanu.
This is because he is pragmatic and sincere. It is because he is respectful and accomodating of alternative points of view and dissenting opinions and he speaks from a position of knowledge and strength. It ibecause he is very proud of his Igbo heritage and he would never betray his people or prostitute his principles.
The truth is that he is not just a combination of Owelle Nnamdi Azikwe and Dim Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu: he is a combination of Azikwe, Ojukwu AND Major Kaduna Nzeogwu all rolled into one.
The fire of revolution and the yearning for fundamental and equitable change burns in his blood and resides in his bones.
He has spoken up for, defended and fought for the preservation and dignity of his people just as those other three leaders did in the past at different times in our history.
He also serves as a rallying point for Igbo nationalism, the fight for self-determination of the people of the east and the establishment of the sovereign state of Biafra.
His love, remarkable courage and sheer passion for his people and their cause is boundless and unfathomable.
The Igbo is blessed to have him as one of the most respected and reverred leaders in our entire history as a nation.
They would do well to appreciate him more, pray for him, stand up for him, line up behind him and insist that the government honors the numerous court orders that have granted him bail and release him from prison.
Why? Because he bleeds and suffers for their collective cause and he is sacrificing all to remove their shame and lift their pain.
What a man he is. What a mighty spirit. What a beautiful soul. What a braveheart.
Permit me to conclude this contribution with the following observations.
All over the world today the concept of political correctness has been discredited and rejected. Consequently right-wing nationalist and ultra-nationalist groups and political parties are rising up and regaining credibility and power.
In the United Kingdom we have the Nick Farage’s of this world and his UKIP whose magnificent efforts resulted in Brexit. In France we have the Marie Le Pen’s and her National Front. In Hungary we have the Viktor Orban’s and his Fidesz party.
In the United States of America we have the Donald Trump’s and his new and redefined Republican party.
We also have plain-speaking and honest men like Michael Flynn, who has just been appointed as Trump’s National Security Advisor.
Political parties with a similar ideology and that are led by equally strong-willed, focused and charissmatic figures are also making great waves and slowly gaining more power and relevance in Italy, Germany, Austria, Holland, Greece, Belgium, Hungary, Russia, the Phillipines, Israel and indeed all over the world.
Thankfully Nigeria has not been left out. We have men like Nnamdi Kanu in the east, Ganiyu Adams in the west, Asari Dokubo in the Niger Delta and others from elsewhere who believe passionately in the restructuring of the Federation, the redefinition of the Nigerian state, the right of self-determination for their respective people and the expression of power, pride, self-respect and dignity for their various ethnic nationalities.
Freedom beckons whilst the wind of change is blowing across the world and no-one can stop it.
I thank God for that and I also thank Him for the millions of men of courage, strength and vision that have joined the fray.
Whatever happens in Nigeria and whatever may come our way, one thing remains clear: an idea whose time has come cannot be successfully resisted. Today may belong to our oppressors but tomorrow belongs to us.
At the appointed time we shall rise up to where we belong as a people and we shall free ourselves from the demonic shackles and satanic chains that have have been placed upon us by our collective tormentors.
And when that time comes we shall stand shoulder to shoulder with men like Nnamdi Kanu and face down our collective enemies.
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob shall rise to our defence and the Lord of Hosts, the Ancient of Days, the God of the Armies of Israel and He who holds the universe together by the power of His word shall lift us up to where we belong

BIAFRA: Court decides the bail of Nnamdi Kanu and 3 others

More concrete details from Larrys Link Web Page on what transpired in court November 17th 2016 as to NNAMDI KALU's case.

Read Below For More Updates and Clarifications...

Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, yesterday, fixed December 1 to decide whether  Nnamdi Kalu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, should be released on bail, pending his trial, or not.
According to Vanguard, the court said it would also consider the merit of separate bail applications by three other pro-Biafra agitators, Mr. Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi, who are facing trial alongside Kanu.
The four defendants are answering to an 11-count charge bordering on treasonable felony and their alleged involvement in acts of terrorism. Specifically, the Federal Government alleged that the four conspired to commit treasonable felony contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Act, CAP. C38 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, in 2014. Government alleged that they committed the offence along with others now at large, on diverse dates in 2014 and 2015, in Nigeria, London and the United Kingdom

Meanwhile, at the resumed sitting yesterday, the defendants, who are currently at Kuje Prison, through their respective lawyers, urged the court to release them on bail pending the determination of the case against them. Whereas Kanu moved his bail application through his lawyer; Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Onwudiwe was represented by Mr. I. Adoga, while Madubugwu and Nwawuisi were represented by Mr. E. I. Efeme and Mr. Maxwell Okpara, respectively.

However, government lawyer, Mr. Shuaibu Labaran, vehemently opposed the release of any of the defendants on bail, insisting that they would constitute “a threat to national security.

Meanwhile, the family members of the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Okwu Kanu, have accused the international media outfits in the world, particularly Cable Network News, CNN, and British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, Aljazira and other media companies of being bias against their son Mazi Kanu and the struggle for Biafra actualization.

In a statement signed by Prince Emmanuel Okwu Kanu for the family; it described the current court case situation of Nnamdi Kalu as unfortunate, in that the media outfit that are supposed to be resolute in educating the people of the world on truth turned its back to stab the truth.

The statement read;

“It is unfortunate that CNN, BBC and other international media companies that suppose to be resolute in educating the people of the world on the truth turned back and stab the truth. The CNN and BBC were paid by the Obama government and British Government not to air news concerning Biafra struggle and Nnamdi Kanu, which is not fair, Aljazira was a bit fair for the news of Biafra and for the release of my brother Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who is being incarcerated since one year and some more months now.
We the members of the family are worried on why the international media outfits in the class of CNN and BBC cannot tell the entire world the truth instead they were allowed to be bought over by evil people in the world, we do not believe before now that outfits like CNN and BBC can be so cheap and loose to the level that they will not proves the ethics of journalism. However, they fail to understand that people around the globe believe in their news before, but today they are no more relevant in the face of general public because of their lies, people believe more on tweeter messages, Facebook and other social media outlets and newspaper reports now.
With this, very soon Radio Biafra will build an international media outfit, if it is not already in that class, that will compete with the compromised international media outfits like CNN and BBC.
The Obama administration recognize, defend and support Muslims in the world in everything more than the Christians and he and his administration collaborated with the CNN and BBC in every evil committed by the Muslims. the American and British ambassadors in Nigeria were also in collaboration with the BBC, CNN and Muslims to kill unarmed members of IPOB who were massacred in a cold blood in different cities in Nigeria and the support for the illegal detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other IPOB members detained illegally in all the prisons and security cells in Nigeria.
The ambassadors in their support for senseless killings of IPOB members by the security agents in Nigeria but for one day have never condemned the killing, is a clear indication that they are aware of the barbaric attitude of security agents in Nigeria. It is imperative to let the people of the Nigeria and the world to know that Nigeria is never one nation and cannot be one because it is nations with different value system before amalgamation in 1914 and we ask these three nations of Arewa, Oduduwa and Biafra to ask themselves this question, ‘who are you before amalgamation in 1914?’ you must trace your origin before it is too late.”

Niger Delta Avengers attack Agip, Oando and Shell trunk lines in Bayelsa

Militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, claim its Elite Strike Team 03 yesterday at about 11.45pm, struck Nembe 1, 2 and 3 truck line operated by Agip, Oando and Shell with supply capacity of 300,000 barrel per day to Bonny export terminal in Bayelsa State.

A statement released on the group's website reads in part" This attack is in response to the so-called

"Operations Sharkbite" an art of terrorism commissioned by the tyranny of the Nigerian Navy establishment and orchestrated by some elements of the ruling political class to continuously undermine any effort by the Nigerian state to addressing the legitimate demands of the people of the Niger Delta and as well a conspiracy to bloat the accounts of some security contractors and conflict merchants within the party structure of the APC. We are only reiterating our strong resolve that, time is running against the Nigerian government, that there is doom ahead. The Nigerian government need our cooperation more than we need the government as it concerns the extraction of the crude oil and hydrocarbon resources in our God-given land. We are determined to continue this war by all means necessary, until that environment prevails for a genuine dialogue and negotiations within the framework of the sixteen point key demands presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by PANDEF on the 1st of November 2016. We want the peace with honour, we don't want the Peace of Our Time. Since that moment military was drafted into the Niger Delta as an instrument of suppression to our fatherland against all peaceful protest and legitimate demands the fear had gone. The message is getting stronger with more messengers".

‘Penis-like’ meat served at a food joint in Ghana...lol (photo)

A lady simply identified as Akosua has narrated how she was served a penis- like meat in a Tuo Zaafi she bought from a food joint at Pokuase in Accra.

According to 3News post on Tuesday, November 15, the lady said she went to buy food at the shop in Pokuase only for her to discover a male-looking genital in her food after almost finishing the meal.

‘I had gone to get some food from the food joint because I was hungry and my preferred choice was Tuo Zaafi which I bought and took home to eat, I had eaten all the other meat in the soup and was about finishing off with the biggest piece when I noticed the funny looking meat which looked like a male genital organ.’

‘My sister opted to show it to a lab technician friend later, who said because the meat was cooked, an ordinary lab test wouldn’t be able to prove it to be animal or human. He advised a forensic test be done on it but considering the bureaucratic processes these things go through, we gave up and the meat lies in our fridge

She also stated that she alerted her family about the strange meal she ate and they all laughed about it saying they will feed it to the dog before her sister insisted that an investigation should be put in place either by reporting it to the police or the laboratory. But they later gave up in their quest to investigate the strange incident leaving the meat in their fridge.

"Boko Haram can’t exist if I were President"-says Atiku

Nigeria's former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, yesterday, November 15, said that if he were the president of Nigeria, the Boko Haram insurgency in the country would not take place.

Atiku made this known in Yola while speaking at the distribution of relief materials to over 50,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at American University of Nigeria (AUN) drawn from all over IDPs camps across the state to commemorate his 70th birthday celebrations.

He said: “If you recalled, while we are in office in 2002, such a small up raising ,very similar to this Boko Haram, reared their head in Yobe State, then,we smashed it immediately. So I think it requires a steadfast leadership,a leadership that is decisive.”

Atiku stated that, he would have used all resources at his disposal to ensure that Boko Haram did not take place in any part of North-Eastern Nigeria and anywhere else in the country. He said he would have made sure Nigerians never heard anything about it again, until he leaves government, adding that he regretted that Boko Haram took over seven of the 21 local government area of Adamawa.

The former vice president noted that the Adamawa Peace Initiative was put together to ensure peaceful coexistence of Adamawa State and its people. The relief materials he brought to the IDP were distributed at Saint Theresa Catholic Church, the Jamatu Nasrul Islam Headquarters and American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola.

The President of the ‘American University of Nigeria’ (AUN) Margie Ensign, lauded Atiku’s charitable efforts at sustaining Adamawa Peace Initiative for almost five years since creation;

“Nobody ever assisted us like you do within the period under review, in providing succour to the vulnerable like Atiku did,” she said.

Massacred Southern Kaduna villagers by Fulani terrorists

24 HOURS AFTER THE KANGAROO PEACE DEAL (VIEWERS DISCRETION ADVISED)

24 Hours after the much publicized Peace deal, over 40 Southern Kaduna villagers were massacred by Fulani terrorists.
The big question is: were the fulani terrorists not on the negotiation or compulsion table?
Were they represented by proxy?
Governor Elrufai and his Deputy Bala Bantex must explain to the world what is happening because i cant imagine how a government will cajole the locals into signing a kangaroo peace accord only for the attackers to return with mayhem 24 hours later.
Only a clueless government will compel people into signing a peace deal without first getting the terrorists to surrender their sophisticated weapons to the authorities..
