Music+ Gets Global Recognition



Africa’s largest digital music service, Music+, powered by leading ICT company, MTN Nigeria, has won the award for ‘Digital Content Services of the Year’ in the 2016 edition of the Global Telecoms Awards (GLOTEL) that held in London recently.

Now in its 4th year, the highly coveted Glotel Awards which is organized by ‘Telecoms.com’ rewards innovative companies across the telecoms industry worldwide. 
The award organisers particularly lauded MTN for being consistently innovative in deploying music as a platform to give other value added services like the highly successful Caller Ring Back Tunez (CRBT) to its teeming subscribers.

MTN Nigeria’s General Manager, Consumer Marketing, Richard Iweanoge, said that the growing impact of digital music distribution across the globe as well as MTN’s desire to provide a platform for music content owners to monetize their works necessitated the creation of Music+. He added that the award affirms Music+’s position as Africa’s foremost digital music content service since it debuted.

Music+ aggregates music from established and upcoming acts and delivers same to music lovers across the continent on their mobile devices. Subscribers can stream, download and create their unique playlist on the platform. To download the app, simply send ‘Music’ to 5900 or search through respective app stores on mobile devices 

The service also engages music lovers through its themed campaigns which includes ‘Music+ Next Rated Campaign,’ ‘Music+ Noiseless Concerts,’ ‘Music+ Unplugged Thursdays’ amongst others
