Disable Popup Andriod

Disable Popup On Your Android Device.

Pop-up ads on a PC/Desktop are not desirable. On a Mobile Phone? it’s super irritating, to say the least.
Visiting a web page on its own takes a ton of data, having to load irrelevant adverts incessantly to top that is a whole new level of wastage.
Besides the obvious monetary viewpoint, they can also be super intrusive. Imagine losing a Pokemon due to an interruption by an Ad?!.
Well, you don’t have to keep tolerating them, and I believe the reason you are reading this article is to rid your device of all Pop-Ups. So, if you own an Android Smartphone, Tablet or/and Phablet, accompany me on this journey as we battle to work on restoring your device to its former glory by disabling these annoying Pop-Ups, using any of these straightforward tips, they all pretty much follow the same processes.

Disable all Pop-Ups.

1. Scan for Malware.
The first thing to be considered is the possibility of Malware infection; Yes, you download your apps from Google Play store, but then, the hit of  Malware on Android in recent times sees to it that DASH APPS is infected on PlayStore by a virus known as “Ransomware”, with over 300million devices allegedly infected with it. Check it up on ‘Wikipedia‘.
You ‘may’ have escaped unscathed, but just to be on the safe side:
Launch your paid anti-virus e.g Kaspersky Internet Security, or Avira Antivirus Security (some free versions work fine too, just ensure you have a powerful anti-virus app installed on your gadget) and manually scan your device to ensure the displaying ad isn’t as a result of Adware.
Adware – The term adware is frequently used to describe a form of malware (malicious software) which presents unwanted advertisements to the user of a computer. The advertisements produced by adware are sometimes in an “un-closable window”.
– Wikipedia.
Bearing that, if your Mobile Device‘s pop-up issue is as a result of an adware infection, this should solve it, however, you might want to try out some websites which thoroughly scans your device free of charge, “one can never be too careful”.

2. Install an Ad Blocker.
There are applications on Playstore which can be used to easily ‘block’ all Ads on your device, including those that pop up.
Yes, you get an app for virtually anything with Android. Ad Blockers which seem to live up to their potentials as at the time of publishing this post, however, are AdBlock Plus and AppBrain Ad Detector – Feel free to explore other options.
If you, however, do not buy the idea of installing yet another application on your device, then the two steps below should suffice to solve the issue.

3. Disable Ads on Your Browsers.
Android Browsers such as Chrome Browser, Android Browser, or even UC Browser all have inbuilt pop-up blocker which is really effective.
To enable them, do check with your Browser’s creator… There are numerous browser’s in the world of today and unfortunately, individual browser’s configuration cannot be covered in this post at this time (You can leave a comment behind if you have difficulty disabling ads on your browser or check back as periodic updates will be made on the article to cover as many browsers as are mostly used).
4. Find and Uninstall ‘Pop-up-Causing’ Apps.
If you haven’t been experiencing pop-ups beforehand, but your device decides to pull the card out after some while of your frustrating it with pressing it on a daily basis(lol, pun intended), and you recently have installed some apps on your Android device, then there’s a high probability one or more of the recently installed app is responsible.
In this case, it’s advisable to backtrack to when it all started and try to remember what app(s) it was you installed, then uninstall them.
If you cannot recall what app it was you recently installed, then, you might want to take a stroll around in your apps menu to see which and which you didn’t install on your own… this might equally jot your memory as to recognizing the recently installed app.
Like I mentioned, You might discover some apps you didn’t install on your own, or do not have an inclination of installing as in the process of surfing the internet most times, you click in absentia on links which install apps on your device, with or without you noticing.
You should take the drastic action of uninstalling them immediately, as they might not be a pop-up pusher alone, but a ‘Phishing’ application capable of compromising your privacy online. They might even go as far as stealing your credit-card information etc.

How To Uninstall an App on Android.

There are different Launcher’s out there which allows you to easily uninstall an app on your android with a simple one-two clicks, but in the case of not, due to the horde of Launchers available, it’s literally impossible to review them all, so, for the purpose of this article, we’ll be looking at the one way which is the same across all Android Devices.
To do this,
  • Navigate to Settings.
  • Browse through the Menus available until you see ‘Applications’, or ‘Apps’ depending on your device, Select it.
  • From the list of options, choose ‘Application Manager’ (or ‘App Manager’ as the case may be).
  • Here, you can see all apps on your device, listed with tabs, i.e Downloaded, SD Card, All, and Running; We only have dealings with the ‘Downloaded’ apps; Select it.
  • You’ll be presented with all the apps you have ever downloaded on the device, including those that came pre-installed.
  • Now, browse through the page until you see the app(s) you believe is causing the pop-ups.
  • Click on the app and you’ll either be presented with a dialog box to uninstall the app or you’re taken to a new page, where you get to see the option to ‘Uninstall’.
  • Choose it, and confirm Uninstall.
Note: Before uninstalling an app, ensure to Backup the application first.
That’s all, one or more of the methods above will definitely work for you.
Congrats, now you should see the pop-ups no more.
